Our ward decided to go all out for our Christmas party this year.
It was a Cowboy Christmas!
It turned out beautifully...I wish the pictures did it justice.
The food was fantastic (we even ate on cowboy tin plates) and the atmosphere amazing. There were reindeer games and Santa came and there was even a fun set up to get family pictures taken. There was a campfire that looked so real in the middle of the room. After dinner everyone gathered and sang Christmas songs by the fire. The last song was Silent Night and then it was the spiritual part...the Nativity program.
Everyone worked so hard and there were so many people involved which I thought was really cool.
I was in charge of the Nativity program.
I have to be honest it was crazy stressful for me and I was worried I was going to mess the whole thing up. There were definitely some things I was in charge of that were out of my comfort zone! I did enjoy writing the script...or I should say arranging the script. I used scriptures prophesying of Christ coming to earth and what He would do for us. I used prophet's words from all four books. I had a narrator do all the speaking parts and the "actors" move around stage in silence. There were three musical numbers interspersed throughout. I sang in a quartet "Mary's Lullaby"...I thought I was going to have a stroke! I was so nervous!!! I really wanted it to be very reverent and a spiritual experience for everyone. It ended with the Primary children singing Away in a Manger with the last verse being sung by a brother with a beautiful tenor voice. It was a great evening, but I was sure glad when it was all over and done with....and I could relax:)
