The Kennedy Space Center was really amazing.
We woke the kids up from the car ride and hurried to eat a quick lunch so we could make it for the last tour bus. The tour guide was very knowledgable. The tour ended at a different building than where we started...we watched a couple of films and then saw the removal process of a space ship and rocket. It was huge!!! They also had a pretty cool gift shop with things that I had to stop myself from buying! We got back on the bus and then went to a few different museum type buildings. Chris and Henry got to ride on a launch simulator. Eliza was too small to ride, but they let us watch the boys inside having the experience. We took a few pictures at the end, but by then Eliza was hot and tired and not interested in picture taking!
We then drove to a yummy Brazilian restaurant. The kids were free...good thing! They loved the little markers that you turned over to red or green and Eliza went crazy over the meat. We were scared she might get sick. It was a long and very fun day! The kids were so tired...we gave them quick baths, but then they ended up staying up and talking and laughing...ugh:) They shared a bedroom, but each had their own bed...they were thrilled to be in the same room!
This is where all the magic happens...the historic launch pad.
They move the space ship and rocket to this location on a crawler. The facts the bus driver told us were astounding. Everything is so huge and weighs so much.
The world's largest painted American flag!
This building does not look interesting at first glance, but it is where they build most everything. Those two long gray rectangles on the building are doors that open up. I think they said it took five hours for them to open all the way...the rockets would be taken out right there. The doors are the biggest moving doors in the world.
This is what you see coming out of the films...they have the spaceship displayed all together and then it shows how all the parts fall off and what is left. (this stuff is hard to explain.:))
Eliza was mad and would not look at the camera:)
It was very bright...I am not sure where everyone else's sunglasses were!
Looks fun! I am excited to see your Disneyworld pictures.
